Nilanjana had the honors of performing as a solo artist at the 11 th annual Bangamela 2009 sponsored by MABA.
The festival was held at the
Gwinnett Center for Performing Arts, Atlanta. Her performance was highly appreciated. Bangamela celebrates the rich Bengali cultural heritage and was hosted successfully by the Bengali Association of Greater Atlanta.
In April 2009, Nilanjana was a part of Guru Smt. Mitra’s first prize winning team at the prestigious dance festival, Zalak, hosted by Marathi Vishwa, NJ.

covered on TV Asia's show, Dance Gurus.
Nilanjana attended a choreographers’
meet in Edison, NJ. The event was held in honor of the renowned Bollywood choreographer of Jai Ho fame, Mr. Longines Fernandes .
In
2007, Nilanjana had the privilege of performing at the Ekal Vidhyalaya fundraiser held at the Gandhi temple, Wayne, NJ. India’s premium TV network, Zee TV chairman, Mr. Subhash Goyal was the guest of honor.
Nilanjana performed at the 2005 Bangasammelan,held at the prestigious Madison Square Garden, New York city. The three day North American Bengali Conference was a mega event for the Indian
diaspora.
Bridging
Gap Series is
an initiative taken by Nilanjana to popularize Odissi amongst the mainstream
and bring together the two great cultures. She has been giving a series of
lecture demonstrations at major public libraries of the state. Her interactive sessions
have been very well received in New Jersey. Besides Kinnelon and
Bergenfield, the towns of Edison, Wayne, Ridgewood and Randolph are
supporting Nilanjana in her initiative. She is scheduled to be in these
towns in 2010.
Performing
along with her Guru Smt. Mitra and her dancers at East Stroudsburg
University campus, PA to celebrate Diwali 2009 was a wonderful multicultural experience for Nilanjana.
The performances were highly applauded by the faculty and the students.
